FULL CIRCLE follows Trevor on a path towards post-traumatic growth in parallel with Barry, 50 years later. Their stories mirror each other, connected through time and space by common locations and motifs; injuries in the Colorado backcountry, rehab at Craig Hospital, fame in Jackson Hole; but also through their shared resiliency and refusal to let their zeal for life be limited by their injuries.
Barry shows that growth after spinal cord injury is possible for everyone, not just adaptive athletes. And yet his legacy paves the way for Trevor’s superhuman feats.
Six years after his accident, Trevor accomplishes the ultimate goal he had set for his sit-skiing, a triumphant culmination of his own personal growth. In the film’s finale, Trevor returns to the site of his accident in the Vail Pass backcountry, and performs the world’s first double backflip on a sit-ski.
Premiering at the 2023 Santa Barbara Film Festival.
About the Score:
For the powerful Full Circle score, Mark stayed true to the themes in the film, traveling across the U.S. to record a variety of musicians living with disabilities including Eric Howk (guitar) of the Grammy-winning band Portugal. The Man, Quincy Jones artist Justin Kauflin (piano), Patrick Henry Hughes (trumpet), Brian Krinke (violin), and Jason Barnes (drums).
He also backed the soloists with a mighty 22 string ensemble and quintet in Vienna, Austria at one of the most iconic buildings of Vienna, the Wiener Konzarthaus, home of Wiener Symphoniker.
