🌟 @Mountainfilm is THE BEST! 🌟 I had the most incredible time this weekend checking out some of the best documentary shorts and features I've seen this year. It was a perfect opportunity to reconnect with old friends and immerse myself in the art. After the challenging times we’ve faced during the pandemic, this was exactly what my introverted artist soul needed! 😌

But wait, there’s more! 🎉 I’m absolutely thrilled to share that both films I scored, @GreenerPasturesDoc and Full Circle, received top honors at the festival. 🏆 Full Circle won the hearts of the students and walked away with the prestigious Student Choice Award, while Greener Pastures took home the Jury Prize for Best Feature Doc! 🎥🎬

Being part of these incredible film teams, I witnessed firsthand the immense dedication and hard work they put into their projects. I couldn’t be prouder to have collaborated with such talented individuals. 🙌🏼 Thank you, Mountainfilm, for an unforgettable experience! 🌄❤️

📣 Exciting News! 🎥🎶 I am thrilled to announce that two films I had the honor of scoring will be having their Colorado premiere at the 2023 @Mountainfilm Festival! 🌟🎬

@greenerpasturesdoc, directed by @workofsam, captures the day-to-day lives of four small, multigenerational family farms over the course of three years. Through an intimate, observational lens we examine the various farm stressors, policies and politics farmers must maneuver to survive, connecting the dots between mental health, industrialization, food production and climate change. It is a story of perseverance, patience and determination that tackles nothing less than the future of farming in America.

Full Circle, directed by @howjoshisliving and produced by @level1: Parallel in their injuries, a current @trevor_kennison and a legendary Barry Corbet have their narratives woven together through reinventing themselves after trauma. Vulnerable in its close inspection and inspiring in its development and delivery, Full Circle follows both Kennison and Corbet as they transform the tragedy of spinal cord injury into an unbelievable opportunity, redefining what’s possible as they set realistic goals in their rehabilitation.

Very excited to officially announce what I’ve be

Very excited to officially announce what I’ve been pouring my blood sweat and tears into for the past few months.

FULL CIRCLE - a feature documentary about @trevor_kennison and his story of reinvention after his traumatic injury - will be Premiering at @officialsbiff next week. (Any Santa Barbara or LA folks want to hang out?)

Through the process of recording the score, I connected with the film’s @craighospital and worked with an all-star roster of incredible musicians and collaborators who resonated with Trevor’s story. I couldn’t be more thrilled to share the score and the film with the world. Congrats to @howjoshisliving @conorsux @emyreznik @savagepedestrian and the entire @level1 team.

AI Headshots - Part 5: The Neon 80’s and my second renaissance

In the 1980s, I felt like I had sold out. My wardrobe was reduced to plaid shirts and playing shows at rodeos(?) (pic 3). I even made a botched attempt at peddling a new line of synthesizers in electronic magazines (pic 4).

Then I discovered neon, and my whole world lit up. My life on the road was at an end, but my creative boundaries extended far beyond the shapes and sizes of standard keyboards as my band of doppelgängers and I experimented in my neon-drenched studio.

BTW, these are all imaginary, computer-generated images combining text prompts and my own image.

@workofsam is one of the most talented, hard-working, and prolific filmmakers that I know. I was so honored to work with him again on @safeplacedoc, an important and revealing piece for the @nytimes. One of the hardest pieces of footage I had to score, but so necessary for the world to see.

Jerod Draper, a 40-year-old father in southern Indiana, was arrested while high on methamphetamines during a traffic stop in 2018. He was taken into custody at the county jail — and several hours later, he was dead. Authorities did not immediately investigate the circumstances of Draper’s death.

In the beginning of the 1970’s I decided to switch over to guitar. This way I could move around my weird tiny stage with more ease. I even grew my hair out, along with another arm to play on the higher frets simultaneously (pic 2). The crowds still loved my one man act, flooding the hills and the mountains, so much so that they just kept putting microphones all over the stage to capture my raucous performance from all angles.
