Mark Crawford is a Primetime Emmy-nominated composer known for his emotionally resonant scores across film, TV, and games. He composed the Emmy-nominated The Social Dilemma and co-wrote its standout cover of “I Put a Spell on You.” Recent projects include Shiny Happy People: A Teenage Holy War (Amazon), Full Circle (Netflix), Greener Pastures (Television Academy Honors), Chasing Time, Comparsa (Sheffield DocFest winner), and Girl Climber (Red Bull Studios), for which he co-wrote the end credits song “Place on the Wall” with MILCK. He also co-wrote an original song for the video game Pacific Drive, which won Best Music at the Indie Game Awards and was BAFTA-nominated. With a BFA in Film Studies and a background in sound and editing, Crawford blends orchestration, sample libraries, and story instinct to create music that lives in the heart of the narrative.
In Their Words
Mark Crawford continues to be one of my favorite collaborators. His range as a composer is remarkable — no matter the tone, genre, or emotional texture a project requires, Mark finds a way to create music that feels deeply authentic and elevates the story. I can't recommend him highly enough.
Jeff Orlowski-Yang Director — The Social Dilemma (Netflix) & Chasing TimeHe is immaculately professional and capable of anything. Finally hearing the finished recordings come to life in surround sound at Skywalker during our final mix was something I'll never forget — it was like seeing the film for the first time.
David Coombes, ACE Editor — The Social Dilemma (Netflix)Working with Mark was a true creative partnership. His score did not just support the film — it helped define its emotional language and gave shape to moments that were still evolving in the edit. The score wasn't just an addition — it was a core part of the storytelling.
Jon Glassberg Director — Girl Climber (Red Bull Studios)Mark's soundtrack blew my mind and really elevated the film. He is not only a very talented composer and musician, but a true team member, championing the film since it premiered. I am certain his name will rank among the best film composers of our generation.
Allison Otto Director — The Love Bugs (Emmy Award Winner)The score Mark wrote created a sonic through line that helped weave two complicated stories into a single narrative. When we dropped his cues into the more poignant scenes, it became a challenge to fine-tune the edit without shedding tears. We knew right away that Mark had delivered something special.
Josh Berman Director — Full Circle (Netflix)Co-writing with Mark is a deeply joyful experience. It's a natural, flowing process where conversation turns to music, and then to more music. As we get into the editing, it's like a calm game of tennis, rallying ideas back and forth to create the best song possible.
Connie Lim (MILCK) Co-writer — "Only Time" (Chasing Time) & "Place on the Wall" (Girl Climber)Mark has an incredible ability to truly understand story, flow, and emotion, and it shows in every piece of music he creates. He doesn't just compose — he elevates the entire project. He is one of those collaborators you are always hoping to work with again.
Zach Jankovic Director — Cut to CreateMark has an incredible musical range — with his background in percussion, he was able to capture both the sound and feeling of Guatemala and the deep emotional landscape of the story. He is not only a very talented composer and musician, but a true team member, championing the film since it premiered.
